Abortion is one of the most controversial topics in American today. Many americans are pro-choice, and believe that it’s a women right to have an abortion. Abortions should be allowed, espically under certain situations. However, some people are against the idea of terminating life, regardless of why and how. Some abortions may be justified, especially when dealing with rape, teen pregnancy, and health problems.

Teenage pregnancy age ranges from 13 to 19 yr. old. According to the Journal of Adolescent Health, the teen pregnancy rate, and large population rate, was far higher in the United States than any other country (J Adolescent Health. 2015 Feb;56(2):223-30). Adolescent pregnancy, birth, and abortion rates are high. One abortion per 1,000 females 15–19 years old. Among the 21 countries with abortion laws and teen pregnancy-United States rank the highest, in 2008-2011 (J Adolescent Health. 2015 Feb;56(2):223-30). These teens are much more likely to leave school and never return. The mother and child will receive inadequate prenatal care and healthcare. Some teen moms must rely on public assistance and help from their parents to raise the child. Abortion should be an option, just like college should be an option.
