Persuasive Essay On Asbury High School

Asbury High School is a school full of potential. There are many reasons as to why the school in Asbury is great, but there are a few changes that could be made to better the school. Asbury needs to offer a variety of courses. As of now students are just offered Spanish I, Spanish II, BTA, Speech, Art, and ACT Prep. Unlike many schools in Alabama, Asbury does not offer French, Theatre, Music, HOSA, etc. If this change was made and these subjects were a choice, the school would advance. It would better the school, the students, and the community. This change could be made by talking to Marshall County’s Board of Education, the principals of Asbury High School, and/or the Alabama State Department of Education. By adding more courses to Asbury High School, the school would expand and so would the knowledge of the students. Asbury High School is very nasty and unsanitary. The floors and bathrooms look as though they are rarely cleaned. This needs to change so that the students who attend aren’t worried about whether the toilets are clean and can just use the restroom and be on time for class. As of now Asbury just offers baseball, basketball, football, softball, volleyball, cross country, cheer, and golf. The few clubs that are offered are FCA, FFA, FBLA, SADD, SGA, 4-H, Science Club, and National Honor Society. If Asbury High School had more extracurricular to choose from maybe more students would join them and it could keep them out of trouble and more involved within the school. This change could be made by talking to the principals, the Marshall County Board of Education, and /or the Alabama State Department of Education.
