The knowledgeable words of John F. Kennedy state, “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.” Cimarron High School is well known for its excellence academically and athletically. Although the school does a plethora of positive things, there are still some areas that could be improved to make it exceptionally better for students. Some athletes, of Cimarron High School, are having a hard time keeping up with difficult core classes on behalf of sports. Therefore, being able to take core classes earlier in the day will help many students perform better with their grades, attendance, and learning. My proposal, that would really help many of these athletes be more successful in class, would be to have a more flexible schedule. With this in mind, having a more flexible schedule would really help these athletes achieve better grades. Cimarron High School is filled with student athletes that struggle keeping their grades at exceptional levels. These students often have to leave early in the day for some kind of sport. The attendance of a student is very important because it will help them to be more successful academically. Teachers also struggle with building their learning skills if they are not at school. Absenteeism can have many negative effects on students. Being absent from school can bring a lot of stress on to students, especially if they are gone so repeatedly that it is hard to catch up on school work. It is proven that students who attend school regularly are shown to achieve at higher levels than students who don’t attend regularly. Students lose the opportunity to learn when they are absent from class. If a student is absent they will miss out on an important learning
