Birth control and tampons are something almost every woman needs. It’s understandable to make the higher quality ones more expensive, but the standard ones should be free. Tampons aren’t something we enjoy buying but it is something we need. Same goes for birth control. If you want to avoid having kids, birth control is the best option. Why are we being charged for making a good decision for the time being?
Say you’re getting ready to have a huge meeting for your career. You stop to use the restroom first only to find out you just got your period. You forgot to put backup tampons in your purse and all you have is a debit card so you can't use the convenience machine. You decide to stuff some toilet paper down there and hope for the best. The meeting is hours long and you didn’t want to rudely leave. You get to the restroom to find out you bled through your pants and possibly onto the seat. This all could have been avoided if the building owners simply offered free tampons in the restrooms. What are the owners really making off the 25 cents a tampon deal. Most women are prepared. They are making an extra dollar or two. Is it really that big of a deal if they are free instead?

The pill is about $25-$30 a pack. $360 a year isn’t that bad. But, someone who is low-class may not be able to afford this all the time. Having a baby is something they definitely won’t be able to take care of without government assistance. Having free birth control at a local pharmacy would help out lots of struggling families. They say abstinence is the best birth control, but in reality who really does that. Of course you would have to be a certain age to get the birth control.
