Yes it is possible to make a designer baby but many countries have it as illegal to genetically engineer Humans. The selection of sex can be chosen but only if there is a genetic disorder which is brought on from the gender of the human. Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis is currently legal and saving quite a lot of babies born with life threatening diseases. The genetical engineering of a lot of animals such as mice, cows, pigs, sheep and goats is currently legal.
