Take A Stand
Thousands of drunk drivers are on the road nationwide every day. Preventing this is almost, to near impossible, but with the right organizations, and laws, awareness can be spread effectively. Driving down the road may not seem like a big deal, but when there might be a drunk driver, more precautions are taken. Law enforcement do their best in order to prevent future accidents and to remove these hazardous and potentially life threatening drivers, but the task at hand is too much for just the public safety, and statistics just keep growing.

The police forces play a big role in this task by evaluating drivers passing by. If there were to be any suspicion about a driver, immediately the policeman has the obligation to investigate further. Once there is suspicion and the pull-over procedure is complete, the officer has the suspect exhale into a breathalyzer. This mechanical device tests the BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) of the person to get an accurate reading. The BAC level is different levels throughout the world, but in Arizona, it cannot be any more than .08. The officer also asks the suspect to do a few more tasks such as recite the alphabet backwards, walk in a straight line or touch their nose with their finger, with their eyes closed. Now these may seem quite simple, but to someone who is impaired, it can be very difficult. Some of the consequences vary depending on the severity of the action taken.
