In a survey I conducted about GMOs, 46% of the 50 people I questioned did not know 70-80% of our foods were made up from GMOs. It goes to show how unaware people are regarding what they are putting in their bodies. After all GMOs are man-made, meaning that it will not be broken down by the body the way a natural food will be. The body does not know what to do with foods that are man-made and people are filling their plates from breakfast until dinner with GMO foods. Over and over again GMO industries claim that their mission is to increase nutritional benefits or production but none of their results have health benefits. Instead they strive for economic benefits and the income they receive from this easy way to sell food.

92% of the 50 people I surveyed believed that genetically modified foods should be labeled. It is almost impossible for people to know whether they are consuming GMO or non-GMO foods due to the labelling system. Scientists do not have the right amount of information on the risks the GMOs posses. Although based on the little information the scientist have on GMOs they have discovered ways in which genetically engineered organisms could negatively affect both human health and environment. Because there is no clear answer consumers will always think the worse and this is what this graph shows. “Since the body becomes what we feed it, genetically modified foods and produce will have a negative influence on one's cellular structure.” states Ron Garner. Because of this dilemma it questions the strength of safety support from the government. For instance, they have not done everything they can in order to rely citizens that GMO foods are safe for people to eat. They continue to let this vital ongoing question until we start seeing negative results from genetically engineered food and by then it will be too
