Heterosexual Parenting: Opposing Child Rearing Homosexual parenting and the process of adoption for gay couples is a controversial subject that plagues the minds and discussions of those that oppose it, such as religious groups and homophobic organizations alike. There are also those that feel heterosexual parenting is the more viable option for children, believing that they will be placed in a more positive environment for their upbringing by living with parents of the opposite sex. However, there will always be groups and individuals that are opposed to homosexual couples having children, and raising children in a household where homosexual behavior is commonly displayed. However, in this day in age, it is becoming increasingly common to witness a gay couple starting a family, and maintaining that family successfully. Gay couples are becoming more welcomed in society, and while there are still a significant number of closed-minded individuals that are opposed to this occurring, it will not prevent it from continuing to grow as natural. In closing, homosexual couples, whether they are married, joined in a civil union, or simply living under the same roof, are entitled to start families of their own. They have proven to be more than capable of raising their families correctly, and have been positively viewed as equal to heterosexual
