There have been a lot of people from Libya being sold into slavery or prostitution. They travel by boat and travel all over Europe, including Russia. In Libya there is no law regarding this, it makes it easy for people to get them and not get in trouble. According to CNN, in 2017 they recorded footage of a men being sold for $400 in Libya. There are auctions of human beings. They are treated as an object and not as a human. The highest bid at the auction is the one who takes the guy for slavery. These events are happening everywhere in the world, even in the most powerful countries. This document was taken last year in 2017. Supposedly slavery ended in 1865, but we are still seeing events of slavery. These people get abused physically if they don’t do what they are told and sometimes they get killed.
In 2001, the awareness of human trafficking started growing. International and non- governmental organizations (NGO) started fighting against human trafficking. One of the organizations that are working towards this problem is known as the NGOs. The Russian NGOs are register as foreign agents. These organizations provide help to people whom been involved in human trafficking. They provide support such as shelter, food and therapy.
