Abortion is an extremely controversial topic, and no matter what race, religion or sex you are it all comes down to the natural right of women. Women around the world are denied access to the right to have a safe, legal abortion. This endangers the lives of thousands of women around the globe. It also creates a tremendous pool of unprepared mothers, which results in a major quality of life problems for their unplanned child. This can lead to abuse, an unstable family life, depression and mental health issues for both the child and parents. A stable, prepared and loving home would create a stable and healthy living environment, this greatly benefits children as they are growing up. Especially for how much care and nurturing they need. There are many reasons why abortion should be more widespread legalized. But it is important to look at the science of what can really be classified as a human life. Many opposing arguments surround the idea that abortion is murder. But this is a very broad and blunt statement, that succeeded in creating a greater stigma around abortion. “A person's age is calculated from birth date, not conception, and fetuses are not counted in the US census, (Fore). “the word person used in the fourteenth amendment does not include the unborn.”(Roe v Wade US supreme court). Thus, by law, a fetus is not considered a “child” until after birth and therefore cannot and should not be considered as such. It is by law proved that life does not, in fact, start at conception. It starts after a fetus is brought to this earth. “No state interest described by fetal rights advocates have enough force to override a woman's right to privacy, bodily integrity and self-determination… Until the child is brought forth from the woman's body, our relationships with it must be mediated by her.” (What's Wrong With Fetal Rights).
