Weed should be freed The discussion of marijuana legalization has been controversial nationwide, and even worldwide for decades. Other substances such as alcohol and even tobacco shown multitudes of reasons to ban their continuance, yet they remain a staple in today’s recreational drug market. The issues stand where many perceive alcohol to be a highly dangerous narcotic that brings trouble and has been thought of as a gateway drug to many other harmful stimulants. Society has encased the image that marijuana is a highly dangerous drug capable of much harm and should be outlawed. There are, however, many great reasons as to why it should be legalized. If americans were informed of its health qualities, they might approve moreover of its legalization. One research article even says, “Having a family member who uses marijuana for medical as opposed to recreational purposes dose dispose individuals to favor legalization” (Galston 4). A survey was also conducted that found, “52 to 45 percent majority in favor of overall legalization also found a much larger majority, 77 to 16 percent, saying that marijuana had legitimate medical uses (Galston 5).” The public has attested to their opinion, and if they were more thoroughly informed, they too would want marijuana to be legalized, obviously for its medical uses. One party of health researchers says, “If cannabidiol oil can help a patient more than what we currently have on the market for pain or seizure control, then it’s our duty as healthcare providers to enter new territory in treatment regimes.”(Weber 6). Our healthcare providers find that it is their bestowed job to find what helps the public. Quite simply, marijuana would be much more widely approved if the public was told of what it’s capable of in the health
