There are currently four states in the U.S that have legalized marijuana for recreational use, those states are Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska. In addition to that 19 states have legalized marijuana for medical use. This is a big controversy weather the rest of the U.S should legalize marijuana or if we should make marijuana illegal. The debate has been going on for quite a while between average citizens and important government officials. People who think that pot should be legalized claim that it is unconstitutional to ban it. They say it goes against the first amendment right that is the pursuit of happiness. There is also many people who believe that marijuana should be banned and it is a horrible thing. These people say that it is a major cause of death. They use these facts to support that, each year marijuana causes 5 million premature deaths, and half of those people who die are middle aged. …show more content…
One requirement is you have to be at least 21 years old to buy or use this product. You also need to have a license in the state of colorado to buy or sell anything relating this product, which can be very expensive to obtain. So in result of marijuana currently being legal there are quite a few laws and regulations that make it difficult for people of colorado and other states that have legalized it. So obviously there are two sides of the argument, people who believe it should be legal and people who think that it should be illegal.They both make great points on why they think what they think, and we are going to be going over both thoughts. At the end of this article we are going to be saying how i feel about the conflict and how i think that they should solve
