Marijuana is a very popular drug in the United States. It is illegal in every state with the
exception of 4, Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Alaska. Some states legalize it just for
medical uses ,but not for possession and distribution. There was an amendment made for
Colorado which states that you can possess and sell marijuana if you’re 21 years or older, but for
the other states it was just a decision by the government of the state. The law used in these states
is good for the people, but if the person is under 21 then there should be consequences and the

Marijuana is said to be safer than alcohol. First of all there are no deaths caused by
smoking marijuana so there is already a sign that it is safer than alcohol. You would think
alcohol would be safer than marijuana, but facts say it isn’t.There are fewer deaths when using
marijuana compared to alcohol.” THC is the key ingredient in marijuana. It attaches to
cannabinoid receptors throughout the body, some of which are more densely populated in certain
parts of the brain”. (3) There are more crimes related to people drinking alcohol than marijuana
and the side effects of alcohol are much worse and affect the body more than smoking marijuana.
According to some people, marijuana shouldn’t be allowed for many different reasons
but some people would disagree with evidence. Some states in America have shown how it is
beneficial to the economy and made it legal for the distribution and possession. Evidence
showing that marijuana is safer than alcohol and tobacco. Marijuana can also be used for medical
needs. Mostly for a pain reliever but it also comes into the big picture with chemotherapy
