Marijuana is a dry, shredded green/brown mix of flowers, stems, and leaves from the hemp plant cannabis saliva. It usually is smoked as a cigarette (joint, nail), or in a pipe (bong) ("Marijuana 1"). It also is smoked in blunts, which are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and refilled with marijuana, often in combination with another cannabis. Marijuana may also be mixed with food or liquids ("Marijuana 1"). The main active chemical in marijuana is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) ("Marijuana 1"). Many people think that marijuana is going to destroy our communities, but in fact marijuana has decreased the rate of suicide and conflict throughout the communities they supposedly destroyed. The legalization of Marijuana has become a very hot topic throughout the whole world, but there are more efficient and productive ways that people could push for the legalization of Marijuana.
Marijuana has been flowing through our society and government. Some governments don't believe marijuana should be allowed to be used because of its effects on some people, but some governments think that marijuana is good for medical and recreational use. The Government believes that marijuana is helping society with the problems that they encounter in their everyday lives. Marijuana has been legalized in Colorado, Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. Between 2014-2015 marijuana will legalized in a few more states (Boyette, Wilson 2). In Colorado, government has legalized marijuana for medical reasons and recreational use. Government allows citizens over 21 to be able to hold 2 ounces of pot, and they are allowed to grow up to six pot plants in their own yards (Merica 2). Colorado and other states that have already legalized marijuana have made a great profit from all the marijuana sales that they have made. Marijuana doesn't only lead to more money for communities and government, but it also adds more jobs
