Marijuana is thought to be a mind altering narcotic to some, and a miracle to others. Over the years Marijuana has gone from being just a plant, into a huge controversial topic. Although, it has grown naturally from our earth and has been used since ancient times, it is thought of as a controlled substance in America. All forms of Marijuana should be legalized because it is capable of stimulating the economy, producing chemicals that can be used as medicine, production of a natural resource, hemp, which is capable of producing many products, and it will be harder for kids to attain. There are far more to be benefits, than potential loses when it comes to legalization. With the current state of deficit the US, why not seek alternative solutions? The US would save roughly 8.7 billion, should they stop enforcing marijuana law, and generate another 8.7 just off taxation (Conant). In states that have already legalized, tax marijuana from 29 to 44%, it is estimated to accumulate at least 100 million in taxes, in the first year (Healy).
