The subject of Marijuana has been a widespread topic and debate around the U.S. and the world for over a decade. Marijuana shouldn't only be legalized for medical uses, it should also be legalized for recreational use nationwide. The differences marijuana can bring to all our community's around the world is mind blowing and can impact the country in amazing ways. The idea that "marijuana makes you dumb" has been introduced into many young minds as a stereotype seen in movies, TV shows and numerous places all over America. Even major use of marijuana has been shown to have no negative effects on your psychological or physical health. A study shown by researchers from The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center gave data showing that "chronic marijuana use by teenage boys does not appear to be linked to later physical or mental health issues." These health issues consisted of things like depression, nervous symptoms or asthma. This study was one of many studies done around the world and most studies concluded the same result, which is marijuana is not addictive in any way and hasn't shown signs of affecting a person's personal or physical appearance. If the country won't legalize recreational marijuana, Americans will still smoke marijuana regardless if legalized. The rate of arrest for marijuana will keep increasing and hundreds if not thousands of Americans arrested for possession of marijuana will continue to be taken away from their loved ones because of a petty plant, and serve jail time at an all-time high. The 3.6 billion dollars spent on enforcing laws on possession will double over the next 10 years. Most importantly the U.S. debt will still stand at being estimated to be 19.5 trillion dollars. America spends more money making sure marijuana is not legalized than they would if legalizing
