All I hear is people whining about how much the make. Well I guess life would be easier for everybody if they just made more money. The minimum wage is set at seven twenty five right now but the states may up that also or just stick with it. It is different in most of the states. Maybe I hear it all the time because i am just in high school. The minimum wage will affect lots of people, it will make live easier for people and it will boost the economy.
For the people who are in the zone of a raise in pay because they are working minimum or some where around their. The minimum is probably never going to be able to stay at one point for ever. Statistics show that most of the states are projected to have and increase on the minimum wage by at least 2018( United states minimum wage increase). Increasing the minimum wage to ten dollars and ten cents would have an impact on twenty eight million workers by getting an increase in pay(Perez). The average minimum wage worker is an adult over 20 and most of them have high school degrees or higher than that(Sklar). So that is about eighty eight percent of the minimum wage workers are 20 or older(Perez). The people in high school will greatly appreciate a raise also. How is a single parent supposed to support themselves and their children when making only seven dollars and twenty five cents a hour. How are people supposed to buy a house or rent one why making so little. It is understandable when people don't have to totally provide for themselves or others. It would help get people out of poverty. Moving the minimum wage to ten dollars and ten cents it would lift four million people out of poverty(Gould).
