Humans are bad at driving compared to self driving cars. Distractions are a big reason why. Distractions can be called the reason for about a fourth of car accidents. People think that they are a good driver and may look down to check a text, but when they look back up they are in the middle of an intersection with 10 people honking at them. For a lot of people the urge to pull out their phone and respond to a text or check their social media is too high.
