Sponsorship for companies and the event itself is a win-win on both sides. Companies love to lend their names on to teams and events that show off the company name. It brings publicity to the name and drives potential customers as well as a way to get their name out there. On November 22nd, I attended the Indiana Pacers game versus the Phoenix Suns. The facility that the Pacers play is called Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where there are a wide variety of sponsors displayed throughout the facility. Some of the sponsors of the Indiana Pacers include: Republic Waste Services, Bankers Life, FSINDIANA, IUPUI, Bright House, and Finish Line.

Every home Pacers game can be viewed on Fox Sports from any fan’s home. In past successes, local media buyers estimate that ad rates on Fox Sports Indiana during Pacers games have increased significantly. Fox Sports has telecasted 29 games this past year, averaging a 4.5 rating, which means about 50,000 households are tuning in to each game. Fox Sports has a broadcast table set up for newscasters to broadcast live from every home Pacers game (Schoettle). This allows fans to get excited about the game and potentially could be on TV that could be seen by family and friends. They also have several banners throughout Bankers Life Fieldhouse that display Fox Sports logo to promote their broadcast for the Indiana Pacers in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Sport consumers will be able to recall the sponsor because of the broadcast in the game and from home because Pacers game can only be seen through this broadcast network. Consumers utilize Fox Sports because it is their only way of viewing the game when they are not able to attend the games at Bankers Life
