Change, on the other hand, implies listening to what our employees have to say and be more tolerant toward different ideas and perspectives, all the while accepting welcomingly, diversity and difference of opinions. This will ensure effective development of Platinum Aged Care’s staff and thus motivate the different teams to work harder and with ever more enthusiasm.The above chart illustrates the organizational hierarchy at Platinum Aged Care. As can be seen, I, Laleh Abooali, am the Head of the entire facility being its Chairman and CEO.
As the Head of the organization, I believe it is more important to be a leader rather than a manger. According to Popovici (2012), leadership is the ability to influence some persons and groups, directing their efforts in completing organization objectives. This implies, as Popovici (2012) proposes, the ability to influence others and thereby become the critical driver of change along with providing the vision that is shared amongst the followers.
As such, I describe myself as the leader of Platinum Aged Care since Platinum Aged Care is built on values that need to be instilled in the staff. As a leader, having the ability to influence, I will be able to direct the efforts of my staff in a direction which is in line with the aforementioned values. …show more content…

(2014) describes five essential qualities that exemplary nurse leaders are required to have. These qualities were essentially categorized based on an interview with six frontline nurses who were asked in-depth open-ended questions regarding the necessary characteristics of nurse leaders.
The qualities mentioned were, passion for nursing; a sense of optimism; the ability to form personal connections with their staff; excellent role modeling and mentorship and the ability to manage crisis keeping in mind the moral principles (Anonson et al., 2014).
