Proposed church model There are certain strengths in existing church models, but they will not be able to address all the concerns and the context in this paper. In the situation of addressing poverty in the local community and with the pursuit of the mission, a contextualized church model that provides a holistic approach will be needed. Referring to a previous mission statement of a Christian organization which was "to bring the Church to the people, then bring the people back to the Church", I will propose a contextualized church model with the emphasis of going to the people and bringing the people to the church. This model will include the proclamation of the gospel to the poor, reaching out to them, serving and helping them, advocating social justice for them and teaching them as disciples and bringing them to the church to worship together. …show more content…

The contextualized church model will encourage Christians, instead of staying within the four walls, go out to the community to help the poor. The church will address one of the root causes of poverty by advocating the justice for the poor. We will encourage those Christians who are in the political circle to provide their influences in the society and they should remember that by doing this they are following what described in Micah 6:8 "to act justly and to love mercy". The church will live out in acts of compassion and justice for the poor. The content of the work will also include the proclamation of the gospel. This social involvement of helping and advocating justice for the poor will improve the image of the church in the community and this has evangelistic consequence.
