Leaping Toward a Cruelty-Free World Worldwide, cosmetic animal testing is still implemented. Although some parts of the world have banned testing chemicals on animals such as the European Union and New Zealand, countries such as the United States and Canada continue to consent. “The beauty industry makes people look and feel beautiful but is horrifically ugly when it comes to the treatment of animals in laboratories.” (Cole 2). Knowing the alternatives, organizations, and cruelty-free products ultimately improves the knowledge about animal testing. Cole begins to inform the reader on the alternatives to animal testing. The first alternative testing method is the usage of artificial tissue. Artificial tissue testing could perhaps replace the use of animals. The testing of the tissue aids a higher accuracy rate on how human skin irritations may be implemented. Another alternative method is test tube testing. With the use of test tubes, animals will not be poisoned by toxic ingredients. In addition, both tests are cost-effective and is more accurate than the disturbing help of animals.
