Our daily, monthly, and yearly habits could really affect the prosperity of animals. Several things that we do can directly or indirectly influence animals lives. The first step we can take is to purchase cruelty-free cosmetics and household products. Another way to help animals is to cut back on meat consumption or to go vegan. Other ways include adopting a pet from a local animal shelter or rescue group, not supporting animals in entertainment, and volunteering at a local animal shelter. When shopping, we don’t think twice about where our products come from or how they were tested. With animal awareness rising, assisting animals and being cruelty-free is more important than it's ever been. The animal rights movement values procedures that are cruelty-free. Cruelty-free is a brand for actions that don’t injure or kill animals. Products that get tested on animals aren’t cruelty-free. These tests are extremely painful and sometimes cause the death of millions of animals every year. Many of the top-selling brands still haven’t gone cruelty-free and continue to test on animals. When you switch to a plant-based diet, you alleviate the unnecessary distress and deaths of several animals, the irreversible damage done to the environment. Producing meat leaves a huge carbon footprint that future generations will pay for. Adopting a pet from a local shelter is another way to help animals. When you adopt from a shelter, you save two lives. Several pets lose their lives in shelters simply because there isn’t enough space for them. The number of people giving pets to shelters outweighs the number of people adopting. The staff members are forced to euthanize pets to make space for incoming pets.
