Marijuana has been a hot topic over the years on whether it should be legalized or not. Some think that weed negatively effects your body, while others believe the opposite. Although marijuana is concerned a “drug”, it actually can be used to benefit your health; mentally and physically. In studies, marijuana has the properties to help cure cancer, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, sclerosis, and pain relief. Some mental effects on the user include, extreme happiness, decreased anxiety, increased appetite, better sociability and it seems like you have more time. Unlike other hardcore drugs, you can never overdose on marijuana and there have been no reported deaths from this remedy. When Colorado and Washington legalized the plant, the taxes the government got back were over 300 million dollars (Ingraham). On average, people spend almost 600 million dollars on marijuana a year (“Opinion Is Weed Worth”). With all that money coming in from tax money, the government can be very wise in using it. Since weed in Colorado has become legal, taxes have gone tremendously (Fisler).
