Pros And Cons Of Multiagency Meetings

1322 Words6 Pages

Appendix 2.1 Summary: This brainstorm mind-map was created at an issue brought up by me in the regular weekly meeting. I raised the question on why does the centre rarely practices multiagency collaborations and was told that it was due to the past negative experiences such as the lack of funding and disagreements between both parties. Thus, I asked how open would the centre be if I were to lead a change involving multiagency to break this thought. The principal was open to the idea and some practitioners were also accepting to the suggestion. As a result, we brainstormed a few possible changes that could be done in the franchised setting to weigh the pros and cons of the urgency of the change.

Appendix 2.4 Evidences on the lack of fire safety and awareness
2.4.1 Fire safety quiz for practitioners
2.4.2 Children’s fire safety quiz
2.4.3 Mind-map planning for the presentation slides
2.4.4 PowerPoint presentation slides

Appendix 2.4 summary: This appendix shows the evidences that both the practitioners and children in this setting have poor knowledge and awareness on fire safety. The majority do not know what are firefighting techniques in cases of fire accidents which further adds into the urgency of this imposed change. I have only included two quiz answer sheets (Appendix 2.4.1), answered by the highest and lowest score practitioners out of the four practitioners. Besides, I have attached one sample response of the children’s quiz (Appendix 2.4.2) as all the other 35 students who answered had the same average score. Another reason is because, I have also organized the results of both the quizzes into the presentation slides (Appendix …show more content…

we had our second event to increase the fire safety in the setting by collaborating with the fire department in a fire drill and evacuation program. To ensure that all children and families are notified on this so that there are less absentees on that day, my team came up with a notice agenda (Appendix 2.8.1) to be pasted on the notice boards. The drill started with us gathering the children outdoors, me calling the fire station, firefighters rescuing a ‘trapped’ child and demonstrations on how to put out fire in cases of emergencies (Appendix 2.8.2). Later, the officer gave a child-friendly talk on how to escape fire accidents as well as the do’s and the dont’s in emergency situations. I managed to form a long term partnership by getting both the centre’s management and fire department in an agreement to conduct yearly drill as it is stated as an requirement by our laws.

Appendix 3.1 Early years practitioner signed informed consent letter

Appendix 3.1 summary: These consent forms were given to the practitioners who agreed to work with me as a team for the changes that I will be leading in the setting. In both changes, I had three other team members working together with me in all the planning and implementation
