This experience helped me more about being the head of an organization. Being about of this club is very beneficial because it is basic preparation of becoming a leader. Being a leader of an organization such a DECA speaks volumes
On June 25, 1938, Congress passed a bill meant to limit the maximum number of hours a person could be expected/made to work, as well as the minimum wages they could be paid. Known as the Fair Labors Standards Act (FLSA), it was the last major piece of New Deal legislation. Basically, the U.S. Department of Labor administered the FLSA, with Frances Perkins, the Secretary of Labor, leading the effort. They set the maximum workweek at 44 hours and the minimum hourly wage at 25 cents for employees that specifically manufactured products that were shipped in interstate commerce. In addition to this, the FLSA set the requirements for overtime and they restricted child labor.

Since I heard about the National Junior Honor Society in sixth grade, I wanted to be a part of it because I have always wanted to make a difference in our community, and joining NJHS would help make that possible. I also want to become a part of NJHS because I want to make our school better, by helping students get more involved with after-school activities, like going to football games, and community service, even if it’s as small as donating a can or two to the food bank. I believe I can contribute both my optimistic attitude and my leadership skills to NJHS. In High school as well as in college, clubs and organizations have played a big role in my extracurricular activities. Currently, I belong to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK), The Psychology Club and I am the former secretary of The Sign Language Club at Bergen Community College. My extracurricular experience has provided me with leadership, group working, and problem-solving skills that I apply on a day to day basis. If given the opportunity to attend Rutgers University, I would like to be part of the Seeing Eye Puppy Raising Club, The Active Minds Club and to join a Fraternity. As a student who values the ideas of hard work, leadership, and character, I am always looking for ways to improve and make a positive impact on my school and community. I believe these values align with my character and who I am as a student and human being in general, and I’m confident that my experiences and future goals make me a strong candidate for this membership. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including leadership roles in the Murabee program at my local mosque and weekly volunteering at, not just our mosque’s Sunday School, but our very own school’s library too. At the library, I contribute to the monthly thematic decor and the new bookshelf organization system. Furthermore, my being the treasurer of the Science National Honor Society, the coordinator of the High School Reading Bowl, a writer for the Literary Magazine, a winner of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for volunteering more than 100 hours, published in a local bookstore’s anthology, and CPR certified through the Science National Honor Society underscores my passion for creativity and academics.
We also do events where we help the homeless by collecting money and food to give to them. One thing that I loved doing for the club was signing up for working as a caretaker for elementary school kids. We were able to act as helpers for the group and help them do fun activities. The All Stars Project-Chicago SWOT Analysis Through the All Stars Project, over 53, 820 inner-city youth are given opportunities to transform their lives through the power of performance. This nonprofit reaches some of our nation’s most marginalized youth in six different cities: New York, Bridgeport, Chicago, Dallas, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The All Stars Project of Chicago has many strengths, including its direct response to the surrounding community’s need, and its status as a privately funded nonprofit; which overshadow its weaknesses of having a small staff and office space. As Chairman of Membership, my duty is to record attendance at each meeting as well as community service and events. At the beginning of this school year, we partnered with Oscar J. Pope Elementary (OJP) as one of our main focuses. So far, we have done countless projects for the school. Our first one was a book drive that donated an abundance of books to each grade level. I will never forget the smile of a third-grade girl who handed me a hand crafted thank you card.

Silence Walking out into my relative's living room, the hushed laughter and conversation died away as my face came into view. Margie smiled, laying out my breakfast choices before retreating to the study, while Paul sat with his back towards me reading the newspaper. All that was heard was the clinking of my spoon and the occasional rustle of the newspaper, the tension quickly becoming so great that the walls might crack and the windows threatened to shatter. As the others woke from their sleep, the house became louder, filling with with the chaos and noise that always seems to follow my family.
