Four of the short term relationship utilized in the proposed study are defined as they were in Koladich & Atkinson (2016) and Jonason et al (2012). In many romance movies, most of them directed at young adults, there are characters that have been in many relationships or characters that have multiple relationships at the same time. It is not the ideal relationship to expose to young adults. Movies that show these non-monogamous relationship include, “Scott Pilgrim vs the World”, “John Tucker Must Die”, “The Other Woman”, and “This Means War”. Young adults need to be educated on healthy relationships because of the portrayal of non-monogamous relationships in the media.
