This semester I also learned how to word rules with right way more and how to be specific with procedures. I made a mock classroom policy about a year ago and after that lesson I made modifications to it. I got excited because it was part of our discipline 2, and I got more feedback on which I need another eye to look at for me. I took the comments and made more to policy and proud of my end product.
Having a combination of what we learn since day one through all the semester and adding all or some of the topics on future projects was an outstanding way to keep learning not only the previous topics but the new ones we touch during school time. Sharing in class our progression was awesome because it showed us how behind or ahead we were with our work, but the most important the extra help or feedback we got from other students. I personally think it was worth the time we spent in class since I always went home after each day of class knowing that I had learned something knew in my life and that I will be using in my
From this class, I have learned to work with other people, including students and adults, as well as leading a team, creating ideas, and problem
Before this class I had never watched or heard of the film The Hunting Ground. I immediately downloaded Lady Gaga’s song to my phone. I felt I learned the most from this unit as well as feeling the most connected to what we were talking about in class. The film taught me that sexual assault on campuses is more common than I thought as well as less reported than I thought. It was shocking to learn of how colleges had ways of protecting a lot of the accused offenders, for example the athletes or fraternities.
My view of the world changed a ton after taking this class. Before taking this class, I didn't know much about other countries, and what was happening around the world, but now I know what is happening worldwide. At the beginning of the school year, all of my friends were talking about how hard this class was supposed to be, and telling me I might should
I’m choosing the Service Learning Project and how it connects to the three articles. The Service Learning Project is going to talk to students are education and how its important for their future. In William Cronon’s Only Connect article is about freedom and growth in educations, and how students should have different opportunities and that they should have a say in what classes they take. Also why its important to have an education. This connects with the project that in my Service Learning Project I’m going to be talking to students about the importance of educations and how it should be your choice.
I liked how I was able to assist student to make poster on bullying. It was fantastic experience to help students in class to come up with ideas on how they can serve through different ways
I know most people constantly say how they didn’t learn anything but I feel like I learned a lot. The professors provided us with a syllabus and a textbook to purchase so we can refer to. The teachers taught us to the best of their ability and helped us understand theories and etc. that we couldn’t fully grasp in the textbook.
Lizz Gage Service Learning Journal Entry #3 Due to my observations at my service learning setting with the Refugee Center, I have noticed that students with similar social identities and characteristics tend to stay closer to each other or associate with one another more than they do with students that are different from them. However, at my site, we are teaching children English, so they are in four different groups based on where their English is, or rather their language ability. The lowest level of English who need the most work are the Yellow Group, then one step above them is the Purple Group. I work with the second highest group, which is the Orange Group and the students that speak the best English and are most familiar with the language
I defiantly enjoyed this class, it was a breath of fresh air from other classes and there were a lot of great movies shown. I really enjoyed the movies from this class; many of them were some that I have wanted to see but have never gotten the chance. Also, this class also gave me a lot of new movies that I now need to add to my long list of movies I would like to see. Some movies I especially liked were Fences, The Normal Heart, Singing in the Rain, and The 39 Steps. Out of those four I think that Fences is a movie that needs to be shown to future semesters.
Arabesque Horror Revived An alternative account of a cinema broke through theatres, as the first film of the Saw series debuted over a decade ago on October 29, 2004. The series gained and immensely earned the credit it has received as a psychological slasher horror film with a dark twist, hence the company that offered to initially produce the movies ‘Twisted Pictures’. An account of proof details and connects the works of Arabesque horror of both the movie series, Saw, and well known author and poet Edgar Allan Poe.
This psychology class taught me more in one semester than the four years I spent in many high school classrooms. My teacher was a strict, social science professor. He had no homework, only tests and a paper that was worth 30 percent of the student's grade. I read three chapters a night, even though each chapter was forty or more
This week was my first week ever being in the honors service learning class. I am junior so i’ve never done this class before. In class on my first day we went around and we all did a getting to know you activity. I find these kinds of activities fun and helpful because a lot of teachers just jump into the content that we need to know for the final exam on the first day of class therefore, you don’t really get to know your classmates. I also enjoyed the strengths finder test that we did for homework one night.
What? Over the past semester, I have taken part in a service learning placement to better understand the diversity that occurs within the Hamilton community, where I will be doing various clinical placements in subsequent years in my nursing program. My particular placement was at an elementary school, Pauline Johnson Elementary School, where I spend three hours every week with a second-grade class. In my role as a service learner, I acted as a teacher 's assistant. During class time, I would go around and help various students with their work, encourage students to try their best, supervise during nutrition breaks and interact with students during music and gym classes.
The speech class thought me how to be a listener, because if you ask me, I will rather go home after I spoke each meeting. Although it's mandatory, I'm glad I was there. I find listening to my classmates really refreshing. Knowing what their interest and how they interpret problems. I definitely learn a lot of information, from yoga to solar panel, reflexology to glass staining.
