My knowledge has greatly improved since the start of health and social care course; this is as a result of having to cover so many units which hold enormous information. Some of these knowledge included learning about effective communication and the different forms of communication which is very important when working in a health and social care setting. My knowledge of anatomy and physiology which is how the body works has also increased incredibly, as every organ and parts of the body need each other to work and function effectively. Learning all of these on this course have increased my knowledge greatly, which I know is going to be very useful for my chosen career path, which is being an adult nurse. I have also acquired ICT or research skills, which I am able to use in completing my assignments. Compare to when I just started this course my research skills was poor, but this has increased overtime since I started this course. In addition, when I was working as a health care assistant, one of the skills that that was important for to have was to be able to work as part of a team and be able to recognise when vulnerable adult are at risk and taking step in making sure that those risks are reduced. These beliefs and values may influence the way we behave in doing what we think is the right thing or the wrong thing. Beliefs can also be influenced by things that we see around us such as family, society, education and religion. My beliefs and values are that everyone should be treated fairly according to their needs. Due to the fact that every individual have a different upbringing and different past, which may possibly have an influence on the way they behave or live their life, therefore it is very important to keep an open mind and treat every individual fairly and equally. I believe respecting other people’s belief and values is important as everyone is different and may also religious views which may also be different to other religions; therefore it is important to keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs or to hold their religious views. I believe that personal values and beliefs need to be kept aside when working with people even when you don’t believe or agree with reason some individuals are in certain satiations but learn to make sure that the right and appropriate treatment is administer to them when they need it.
