When the class got books Little Man refused his. Cassie new why he refused it and The Teacher was going to spank him for his actions but cassie stood up for him and saw the word he was called in the book N****R and they did not believe him so he got whooped. “Holding the book up to her, I said, “See Miz Crocker, see what it says.They give use these ole books when they didn't want em no more” (Taylor page 26). Cassie is willing to help T.J despite his actions against her family During the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. T.J was with R.W and Melvin and he helped break into the store Wallaces and got in big trouble but papa found out and started the fire to distract them from T.J but, Papa new that T.J was a troublemaker, yet Papa still helps help even In life or death situation.We keep doing what we gotta, and we don’t give up. We can’t. (pg 206 Papa) This proves that she is a loyal friend and willing to help when someone is in trouble that proves she is a Courageous.

Have you ever wanted to get revenge on someone and it wasn't fair to you ? Cassie had to deal with that and Lillian Jean Simms did to her. Cassie took here somewhere to get revenge on her she threw down Lillian Jean Simms books and stomped all over them and she told Lillian Jean Simms to pick up her books she said make me. Then Cassie struck Lillian Jeans Simms hard across the face and she twisted her hair and she got revenge on Lillian Jean Simms. “But, Cassie, why? You such a nice little girl. . . .” This proves Cassie is a good person but when she gets treated wrong she get revenge on them this proves she is a Courageous
