Safety and Responsibilities College students have boundaries when rules are set in place. With these rules, college students must be more responsible and mature with their behaviors. At Clark Atlanta University (CAU) students have visitation rules they must follow. The visitation rule states that only the students who attend the institution can visit the dorms during visitation hours. The visitation hours are six o’clock to eleven thirty. This set up gives the students the opportunity to visit each other while still ensuring that they are responsible. Also, the visitation rule gives parents assurance that their child is in a safe environment. Rules should be implemented because they ensure safety and responsibility for the students. The

CAU has to make sure that the college students are in a safe environment. With the visitation rule, no one outside the AUC can visit the dorms. The reason this rule is implemented is to ensure that all students are safe. To make sure no one violates this rule, students have to show ID when they walk into their building. Campus police also monitor around the buildings making sure that all students are in there appropriate building. Safety on the campus gives college students security away from home. Parents are assured that their child is safe while staying on CAU’s campus. Parents are at eased knowing that only AUC students can visit their children. Also, it helps that parents know police officers are monitoring the environment. Parents that know their child is safe away from home can be more relaxed and less worried. It is beneficial to the institution because parents will more than likely keep their children enrolled in school. Parents are grateful that each building has a security feature. With this rules parents know that the institution has direct control. College students become more mature with these boundaries during college. So that when the students graduate they will know that life itself has boundaries. The students that follow the boundaries are rewarded and the students that do not following boundaries will have consequences. With visitation rules students have to be responsible with their decision. This will allow students to grow into adulthood. Being an adult requires a lot of responsibilities.
