The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics is proof that prosperity is a possibility for students who may not be where they intend to stay in their future. I wasn’t aware of the wonders that were possessed within the walls of the school until my friend Sam invited me to attend a SmarTalk session. I was amazed when I came to the realization that this school has the power to change my life, academics, and especially my future. I am drawn to become a student at SCGSSM to further: my academic interests. abilities, and talents.
Initially deciding to apply to SCGSSM launched me into a state of sheer euphoria. I was overwhelmed at the possibility of being a part of a community that is intrigued by the many facets of science. SCGSSM makes it a priority to provide opportunities to their students that otherwise would be

Potential is real, it just requires stimulation to grow. Growth can be gained from experienced scientists who have similar tendencies to analyze issues as I do, and provide me with counsel from their experience. SCGSSM has the capability to develop my understanding of the advancements made in modern science, as well as the scientific community itself. Growth is the desire that I cannot satisfy at my current school, which is what I essentially intend to gain. Along with the formidable coursework that SCGSSM students are required to study, it is inevitably followed by a pressing schedule.. I would use this as an opportunity to further my study skills and procedures to learn at a higher degree than formerly. Personally, I tend to use creative methods to learn difficult material so that I can better understand materials from my individual point of view.This talent specifically can be used to help a fellow student better their progress as well in a difficult situation where a common struggle
