Are children with autism being receiving the attention and support they need to complete tasks in schools today? Children with autism have disabilities that range from social skill development to behavior needs that some schools are unable to provide the appropriate teaching skills to ensure the child succeeds in their school work. Families with autistic children should be able to learn about what's available for their children so they're not leading them into an environment where they can't accomplish any set goals. Not every program or routine arranged for children with autism are perfect for every person. Taking several approaches to a different variety of schools and their programs is important to help one's child to succeed. I do not …show more content…

As well as how they communicate and act towards the student in different types of situations, for an example, how they react to the student when they are mad, upset, or having some type of conflict with another student. Do they look at both side of the story or go off of the actions that the autistic student cannot control? By having a brother with Asperger’s I know they can say stuff that is hurtful to others, I know it cannot be easy for the teacher. By learning why they can’t control what they say would help the teachers punish them in the correct way as well as help calm them down if needed. Our family had to go through trying to figure out how to work with Jackson when came to him saying rude stuff to us. His teacher asked us how we handled it so they had an idea of what they could so when it happened at school. I would also like to learn about how they accommodate the student’s needs when it comes to academics. Each and every student learns a different way, some are slower, and some are a lot faster at learning new subjects or area of interest. Many autistic children are above their grade level.
