My journey to my future career cannot be classified as one that has gone according to plan. However, the goal has always been the same. I have always been a person that what my career to mirror my passion. I am very passionate about sports and I truly believe that sports are my avenue to make an impact in this world. I started my career aspiration pursuing a dream to play professional sports due to a personal belief that was the avenue to open doors to accomplish everything I set out to do. As I previously stated, Sports SHSM is the main reason I have the confidence to thrive in the sports industry because it gave me the skills and the experience to understand the details of the industry, as well as put my foot in the door. The skills that I learned through this means of career development is management skills, teamwork skills and leadership skills. The way these skills were developed was through the co-op opportunities that I was giving through the SHSM program. I received a placement with the Toronto Raptors with the game day department and with Cosmos sports in a more administrative position as a sports account executive. The difference between both these experiences is the social aspects of the job as well as the objectives of the job. The Toronto Raptors job was more service based while the Cosmos sports job was product based.
