Since I heard about the National Junior Honor Society in sixth grade, I wanted to be a part of it because I have always wanted to make a difference in our community, and joining NJHS would help make that possible. I also want to become a part of NJHS because I want to make our school better, by helping students get more involved with after-school activities, like going to football games, and community service, even if it’s as small as donating a can or two to the food bank. I believe I can contribute both my optimistic attitude and my leadership skills to NJHS. My optimistic attitude allows me to never give up and hope for the best possible outcome of a situation, which helps me to finish projects with quality and effort before they are due,

I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
From an education in the honors program, I hope to work in an environment where I can most easily succeed, as well as have better interactions with my peers and professors. I will grow from this program because it will allow me to work in an
I am accustomed to a rigorous course load and having to manage my time. Being a part of the Honors College, surrounded by those who share the same ideals and high standards as I do, will only further my success. Living in an academically inclined environment would allow for me to make great working relationships and friendships! Not only that, but the Honors College provides many opportunities for study groups and extra help; which will be rather beneficial considering I am planning on majoring in biochemistry. I would be an exceptional candidate for the Honors College because I am not only interested in getting a fantastic education, but I want to get involved in the school and make my college experience the best that it can be.
Looking back on my high school journey, one thing remains steadfast: my determination to travel and study abroad. With this in mind, I have chosen to respond to the second prompt—detailing what opportunity I am most excited about—regarding the Renée Crown University Honors College at Syracuse University. While reading through the Honors College website, multiple programs and opportunities piqued my interest. However, the emphasis placed on studying abroad while at Syracuse intrigued me the most. As a result of growing up in a small town, nothing excites me more than branching out and discovering new places.
By being a part of the National Honors Society, I will be able to get involved in helping my community, develop my leadership skills, and have the opportunity to show my leadership capabilities. I place great importance on succeeding academically, as a student, and as a person. I am a hard worker who is always up to help out; I value community and love connecting with others; I always strive to do my best; and lastly, I am a team
The Honors College will be most beneficial in improving my GSU experience by allowing me to connect with an environment that will help me grow as an undergraduate. Previously and currently
I feel as if being a part of the Honors College will connect me to people who share my interest in learning, and who are just as academically driven as myself. The experience of being around those who are constantly striving for academic excellence will push me to continually do better and will create an academically competitive environment which I feel I will flourish in. Being in such an academic environment will help tremendously in achieving my goal of earning a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, my primary professional goal at the moment. Hopefully, my time in the honors college will help to prepare me for my second professional goal: earning a master's degree. I want to earn a master's degree because I aspire to have a career as a Nurse
I want to be an officer within ALD/PES because I want to contribute to the development of the honor society, community and under-performing students. I believe that many students are not aware of the vast opportunities that are found within honors societies. I want to help under-performing students understand that striving for academic excellence can lead to intellectual stimulation, community engagement, highly-driven support groups and a wealth of scholarships opportunities. Students should not be deprived of their academic success or potential simply because they were not aware of honor societies. Moreover, students who choose to become honors society members should be constantly reminded that there is more to honor societies than just “academic
Purdue Why are you interested in joining the Honors College, and how do you believe you would contribute to this interdisciplinary learning community? The Honors College at Purdue gives me the chance to interact with all disciplines of engineering within a smaller community of unique perspectives. The specialized programs of research, courses and study abroads are intriguing to me because I always strive to try new things. I want to further my knowledge in areas of my interest and work on undergraduate research like Dr. Qingyou Han’s Materials Processing Technology Development and have the resources to work on my thesis.
This skill is vitally important to my education and to the students I aspire to teach. How can I teach something I myself can not do? Being in the Honors College would also allow me to take part in a smaller community in a large school. In college, I hope to foster lifelong bonds with fellow students and professors. Taking classes and living along like-minded students would prove the optimal circumstances for that.
As a productive individual, I attempt to establish a to-do-list in which I list the various tasks to complete for the day. Despite not completing all of them every single day, the list keeps my priorities straight, assisting in a clutter-free mind. Currently, I have numerous short-term goals, too much that one could possible consider “overwhelming.” As I have choosen at the beginning of this year to pursue the path of early graduation, I welcomed all the tedious work-load of two grade levels, attempting my best to mute the complainants of the difficulties. With the school year in full force, my personal short-term goals are to tackle the subjects I struggle in most and conquer the material disregarding how miserable it might be.
I would grow with my education in Honors College and I am confident the impact of my presence would make the college grow too! (372
Exploring the vast landscape of universities across the country was a thrilling and informative journey; although choosing the university involved much discernment. The decision of where I wanted to continue my education was difficult until I discovered Colorado State. From the philosophy of the school to the hundreds extracurriculars that Colorado State provides, it was evident that this is the only school that would allow me to expand on my passions. After being accepted into Colorado State, I felt compelled to apply to the Honors Program. This ambition to strive for more stemmed from the education and experienced I gained from my high school, Creighton Preparatory.
