As a prospective member of the National Honor Society, I feel that I would be a good fit for National Honor Society because of my willingness to do service for our community and because of my willingness to help others. In the beginning of my freshman year I aspired to be a part of such a great organization and I am so thrilled with the possibility of being a future member. It would be an honor and a privilege to be in National Honor Society and I would take my duties and tasks very seriously. The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. The four pillars of National Honor society has shaped me very much so. Because of all the service I do in my community, I have learned to be humble. Leadership has shown me that if you keep as servant’s heart greater things come. My character is known as strong, dependable, trustworthy, caring, and honest. Being in a leadership position in several organizations has taught me to put others before myself.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
The five pillars of the National Junior Honors Society have greatly affected my middle school experience. Throughout my three years here at Wisdom Lane I have strived to use the pillars as a way of my school life. Inside and outside of school I have strived to widen my educational path by using different programs and doing great in my classes. I study and work very hard to have gotten where I am today and I will continue to do that through the rest of high school and college.
I would like to join National Honor Society to better myself and my fellow man and to uphold the ideals of the society Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. I am committed to my learning just as teachers are committed to teaching kids. I take pride in my ability to put school at the forefront of my mind and being diligent when doing my work. I do my best in the classroom so that I can go to college and get a good job to better the world. As a “smart kid” the expectations are much higher and I strive to meet the expectation and exceed it.
Every week I spend time at the Morristown Medical Center as a volunteer, where I am able to help keep things functioning in the hospital at the highest speed possible and hopefully brighten a few patients’ days. Also, I’ve enjoyed helping refereeing youth basketball games for the past two seasons and being able to talk with the kids. It is a great opportunity to give back to a program which gave me so much in the five years I played in it when I was younger. Furthermore, I am excited for even more opportunities to have an impact on my community which being a part of National Honor Society would aid in.
Most of my surroundings were filled with people who are academically determined and I was immediately drawn to joining the outstanding group of students who represent the National Honor Society when I first heard about it. Knowing that I met the requirements to be put in this prestigious program thrills me. I think that over the course of my life, I have developed the qualities of leadership, scholarship, service, and character that make up the core values of the National Honor Society. I am a standout candidate for the National Honor Society due to the qualities I possess. I was already seen as a leader when I started high school because of cheer.
Within a fellowship of individuals, honor is highly esteemed. The sharing of common attitudes and being united through service, binds a society. Being a member of the National Honors Society would bring me countless opportunities to further my academic career, allow me to give back to my community, and introduce me to accomplished student leaders who have the same perseverance I do. Academics has been a significant aspect of my life ever since I was little, I constantly try and challenge myself with rigorous courses such as honors, AP, and IB courses, I have also been on the honor roll since middle school.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
