By volunteering at my local church and helping with local service projects, I have realized the commitment and perseverance it takes to lead by example. At my local church I continue to help with the organization of my youth group. After speaking at church staff meetings for several months we made it our goal to improve the youth group by ensuring that children and teens of all ages were included and had an opportunity to participate. I was able to create a system where teens who attended high school were paired with a middle school individual of the church. This provided a sense of inclusiveness and made the youth group more enjoyable for everyone.
Dean demonstrates how in the pragmatic move Part Three of her book, “Cultivating Consequential Faith” by exploring the broad sets of practices that help congregations cultivate mature faith in young people. This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors,work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.
I have to keep in mind that for both of these situations I need to be coherent and professional. 3. Think of a writing assignment that you will need to complete this semester. Who’s your audience? What’s the occasion or context?
One of the youth leaders says how he shows the youth to live a responsible and righteous life around God which shows us how we adapt to current needs by understanding each other’s positions in how we live in today’s world. We are meant to worship God not individually or silently but rather as a group. We have to be as involved as possible in understanding the rites and prayers that they part in. I observed this when everyone in the service was voluntarily singing along with each other as a community. The choir was singing in harmony with the lead singer and the rest of the community and they offered themselves to God to take their faithfulness and acceptance of
With the collaborative efforts in studying, praying, and walking together as a body of Christ, Christians can achieve workplace excellence, promote well-being of community, and practice Christ-like living. Sherman provides many vivid examples of congregational leaders at churches from a variety of denominations sharing the same perspective and commitment to pulpit leadership that affirms members’ work in the world. Education devoted to faith/work integration topics can also promote “blooming”. The My95 program from Peachtree Presbyterian Church is a good example.
I am now able to see the areas in which I lack in but I also recognize my strengths as well. To become a precise writer, you have to take the initiatives that will help you do so. These initiatives consist of working on different academic genres, planning and organizing material, identifying purpose and audience and for revising intentionally. It is also includes reading different types of texts and learning how to understand a writer’s argument and respond to the ideas of others.

As an eighth grader, I have learn that writing is an another way of speaking expect it’s written in paper with multiple color of ink. I realized that writing lets me express myself, made me think about myself and others, and most of all writing answer many question that I would never think about. In this year of school, I have grow great deal of improvement in my writing and find weaknesses. As a writer, I found some of my greatest growth is specific areas is writing a lead for my introduction.
The congenial atmosphere within the community has provided me with the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share my ethical values. Engaging in discussions, participating in congregational activities, and expanding my intellectual horizons have enriched my spiritual beliefs and broadened my academic perspectives beyond the boundaries of formal education. During the upbringing of my childhood, I had the privilege of serving as an altar girl, a role that instilled within me values of discipline, unity, and accountability. This role not only honed my work ethic and attention to detail but also deepened my reverence for the church's rituals and long standing traditions.
Chand affirms, “An inspiring culture is like perfume, filling the air with the sweet aroma of love, encouragement, passion, and a commitment to excellence.” As I read this beautiful statement, I sincerely desire that to be said of the culture I lead. I have been around leaders who exemplify Dr. Chand’s description of an inspiring culture. For example, I sense that Southwestern Assemblies of God University displays this culture. During the on-campus cohort I am drawn to the University.
I have never been good at writing, nor have I ever enjoyed writing. Writing is never something that has been easy for me. However, after taking this class, I have come to have a greater appreciation for writing. I have learned that in writing, it is not what you say, but rather how you say it. There are several important writing techniques and lessons I have learned in this class that aide in improving the “how”.
The Path Set Before Me Looking at the junior highers quietly sitting around me, reading the bible passage, I feel a swell of contentment. The feeling of God working through me as I lead my group of campers through a week of fun and learning is something I will never forget. My time working at Wood Lake Bible Camp may have been the first time I realized that I could spend my life working with youth. God has since given me more opportunities to discover the path he has set before me through mission trips, english camps, and my experiences as a missionary kid.
I chose this writing assignment because I did not successfully address the prompt, and I feel like it is important I understand what really was being asked for this assignment. At first I was really overwhelmed because it was the first assignment and the process was confusing to me somehow at that time. When it came to rewriting, I re-read the prompt, notes, process done, and comments to see where I did not follow the process. I went back to change my arguments more into how this affects the audience. For strengths, my evidence is still strong, but as a weakness I still not a hundred percent sure it flows well.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
