Student Athletes Should Get Paid

As a college student athlete it would be necessary to allow the players to get paid as they play the sport they love and admire. It would be necessary to pay these college student athletes, because just like professional athletes they go out on the court and or field and play the sport to entertain others. Also because all their jerseys and other clothing are being sold, but they get zero percentage of the money that is made from the merchandise being sold. To solve this issue for the college student athletes, they should get paid to play the sport.

Being a student athlete at the college level you should be paid, because “Some say college sports is entertainment. Others say it’s the road to pros. The one thing it most certainly is: a business” (Siebold ). College sports are most certainly a business, and business has employees which in this case are the players. They should get paid because of the number of countless hours of work they put in. Work is time and time is money, but not to these student athletes.
