How to Fund Greener, Healthier, Better Schools by Rick Fedrizzi dated 23rd March 2016, depicts the favoritism that exists among our community leaders when it comes to public and private education facilities reconstruction. The article clearly states that the public education system suffers due to insufficient funding. According to Mr. Fedrizzi, this is a well-known problem across communities, states and federal government leaders in the US. This is living proof that something must be done, solutions need to be put in place in order for a brighter, safer, cleaner environment that students can learn in and in time succeed.
The author of the article expresses his concerns about the ‘truth’ of the current situation. As stated by Mr. Rick “if we want to be able to say that we care about our children’s health and education, we must address the state of the buildings that they learn and live in for hours every day”. While there is merit to this statement, I also believe cleanliness begins at home. No school is perfect, but the responsibility of keeping the environment clean should not be left solely to persons in authority. However, parents, teachers, board members and even students themselves should come together to protect their schools.
