Upon completing my A Level studies, I contemplated on my future. After much thinking and researching, I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in the United States and to study architecture as my first choice major in university.
I came across Syracuse University when I was doing my research on the architecture major in the United States. I chose to apply to Syracuse University, in particular, because I was attracted to the accredited five-year architecture program offered in the university. Besides that, I found out the School of Architecture in Syracuse University is one of the oldest architecture schools in the United States and that through the years, it has developed into a well-known and established body in the world of architecture. Indeed, the experience gained through the history of the school makes it one of the leading schools of architecture in educating future architects. I am especially inspired by Syracuse University’s Samuel I. Newhouse Communications Center I, which is designed by Ieoh Ming Pei, one of the architects that I greatly admire. I am excited to be able to see the center and the other buildings of Syracuse University in person, if given the opportunity to study at the university. Additionally, the university’s overall architecture, ranging from nineteenth century style to contemporary style, would be a great learning experience for me.
Apart from that, I was attracted to the study abroad program offered by the university. Architecture students have the privilege to study abroad in the school’s programs in Florence, New York or London in their third and fourth year of university education. It would certainly be a great experience to gain knowledge about architecture first hand from any one of these cities with their unique local
