I am delighted to apply to Illinois State University. I am planning to attend an open house to ISU so I can view the campus but from what I have seen online and read from the students ISU is a great campus. The open campus looks enjoyable and relaxing, from what I have seen in the pictures, and from reading alumni reviews about Illinois State, there were only positive things about the school and its courses. I would like to attend Illinois State for many reasons; First, I am interested in possibly double majoring in French and International business, ISU excels in both programs. Furthermore, ISU offers many classes and tutoring to assist me in meeting my education goals.
Living by the belief that embracing different perspectives is the only way to an inclusive society. NYU’s values of commitment to international outreach and involvement is a huge reason I fell in love with the university. After leading a high school club about global awareness events; I am eager for an institution where I can enrich my passions. Staying true to my ambitions, I plan on studying Global Liberal Studies at NYU; eventually venturing into
Attending New York University has been my dream, my end-all-be-all, for some time now. There are countless reasons why NYU would be an amazing fit for me and why I would be an amazing fit for NYU. I consider science to be a lifestyle for me, rather than an interest. As a student at NYU, I would be able to let my passion for science flourish, considering NYU is one of the top research colleges in the world. Specifically within in science, I am interested in neurology and genetics.
As I near my final semesters at NDSU and look towards graduate school I can’t help but try and summarize my time here. I have learned so much about my passion for design and the potential I have to do great things thanks to the education NDSU has provided me. In truth I have never really lived the “real college experience” because that is not what I want to remember when I look back at my collegiate experience. I don’t want to remember the parties I went to, I want to remember the late nights spent in studio chasing a design, the hours spent with my friends and peers working through architecture problems, and the connections I’ve made with faculty members in the architecture department who’ve become almost a second family. If I were to summarize
With increased demand for quality and safe nursing care, the health care system is currently focusing on the quality of training of student nurses. Nursing education has therefore shifted from the conventional concepts where nurses were perceived to be assistants to physicians to a new model where student nurses are equipped with sufficient scientific knowledge enabling them to use evidence-based approaches in decision-making. In my baccalaureate degree education through ISU, an evidence-based approach was one of the key areas of focus, which I credit to having prepared me to practice according to the expectations of a bachelor’s prepared nurse. Moreover, my baccalaureate degree education through ISU laid emphasis on cultural sensitivity and cultural awareness. This is owing to the fact that the world is currently globalized, which makes it essential for a nurse practitioner to be able to understand, acknowledge, and appreciate cultural differences among the patients as well as attend to the unique cultural needs of the patients.
I'm applying to NYU because of the level of diversity. NYU represents up to 83 different countries in the freshman class alone. As a student who has attended small, white institutions, I know that I will thrive at NYU because of my love for culture, yearn to learn about the lives of others, and need for dissimilarity. I’m excited to attend NYU because it fosters involved, productive, and globally aware students. As a cosmopolitan individual, It is imperative that I am surrounded by like-minded people.
University of Chicago has the major I am interested in, Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience. Through the wide variety of study abroad opportunities the university offers, I could study about Middle Eastern civilizations in Jerusalem or civilizations while in Vienna. Along with studying abroad, I would love to take a Big Problem course in my senior year of college. A Big Problem course would give me the skills and knowledge needed to face major problems in the field I desire to pursue, the medical field. I aspire to become a pediatric neurologist to help alleviate the impact a mental or intellectual disability has on children with special needs.
I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.
I have always been involved beyond the classroom with the schools I attend. I attended King Kekaulike High School in Maui. My freshman year, I was an active member in Interact club, a local service club. I was also on the junior varsity volleyball team and the girls varsity soccer team. I was the team captain for the girls varsity soccer team at KKHS both my junior and senior year.
After I graduate high school, I am interested in attending Iowa State University. ISU requires four years of english/language arts, three years of math, three years of science, and two years of social studies in high school. For the RAI, students who achieve a 245 or higher are automatically offered admission. I believe this seems very reasonable and is easily achievable. I am interested in going into computer science at Iowa State University, which requires about 120 credits.
Learning and Scholarship are critical values to all students, but throughout my time at ISU, I have gained a much deeper appreciation for the idea of being a lifelong learner. The programs for Special Education at ISU are some of the best and have offered me more ways to learn than I originally thought imaginable, and have inspired me to explore my educational possibilities in the future. Through my clinical experiences, coursework, and experiences outside of the classroom, I have gained a deeper appreciation for what it means to work in special education. I have decided that I will get a Masters in School Counseling and work as an academic advisor for special education students. Through this path, I will be able to continue learning more and
To some, the University of Chicago may seem like just another college with the iconic speech about how you can make a club to match your interests, or how great the food is. However, once you go beneath the surface it is impossible to underestimate the educational and intellectual benefits as well as the community and possibilities which stem from UChicago. I first learned about the University of Chicago at the beginning of my junior year when I inquired for a list of suitable schools from my principal. After researching the University of Chicago, it became my first choice, I even have a poster on my bedroom wall! I became excited about the opportunities the chemistry department offers as well as the idea of the Common Core, the joining of an intellectually motivated community and the ability to make a difference as many other UChicago alumni have.
“A good education is the greatest gift you can give yourself or anyone else.” I have dreamed about college since the seventh grade, and once I began high school, I learned so much about it. With college now being right around the corner, I finally now what I want, a school that is close to home while being far enough to establish independence. I have done a lot of research on Illinois State University, and it seems to be the perfect fit for all I have ever wanted in my college experience. It is the full package of great academic programs, student life, and options.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
In addition, many international students are attending Columbia College, and that is one of your most appealing points because I would like to make an indispensable worldwide relationship. Being involved in it, I love your wonderful exchange students system. I am interested in experiencing other countries’ culture, so that system has attracted me too. Your enriched clubs has also caught my attention.
