When a teacher gets his or her first classroom there are many things they will want to incorporate including book nooks, teacher workspace, student workspace, etc. However, it is not always easy for them to find space for everything they want with what they are given. Some obstacles include door placement, windows, and built-in furniture. Finding room for what a teacher wants in their classroom and incorporating what is given to them can be tricky but it is something all teachers have to do at least once in their career. There are also many important details that teachers must think about when designing their classroom such as accessibility, distractions, and whether or not the teacher can see all of the students all of the time. A 25 x 25 foot classroom is an extremely large one and is rare but not impossible to find. In this designated classroom there are six windows, one door, and one row of built in shelving. There is up to thirty student desks, tables, computers, and other classroom supplies to incorporate. Included in this essay is a model of a classroom designed by myself. In the corner of the classroom I have set up a “book nook” that is a little bit secluded from the rest of the room. This corner is carpeted with a rug, has comfy bean bags, and is surrounded by books. The books need to be of many different genres, levels, and some should be specific to student’s interest. There is also a “student table” which I would dedicate to the writing part of literacy. At this table I would have all sorts of writing supplies including paper, writing utensils, and some writing prompts for students to use when they aren’t sure what to write
