Have you ever had a day filled with excitement to last a lifetime? The contagious laughter, the broad smile, the refreshing smell, the salty sweet,These are my memories. NAFAYIA Have you ever tried to multitask with a 5 year old? Well I have, it was a bright and sunny Saturday in Ames, Iowa.
there were 700 gods and goddesses and most of them were combined to start new deities. Many of those gods are in myths we know today like Ra (he was merged with the god Horus, the god of the Sun). Osiris (he is the god of the underworld and death), and Osiris’s sister Isis (she is the goddess of motherhood and healing). The only instance of a drastic change was when the king Akhenaten started his monotheistic religion.
I chose to pursue the teaching field because of my experience training new nurses and C.N.A.’s at the nursing home I previously worked at. There were students that would come to observe and learn the procedures and skills needed to work in a nursing home. My bosses knew to send them to me because they saw the passion I had for teaching skills in the nursing field. So when I knew that I was going to have those students, I became overjoyed because I knew that as they learned, I was actually making a difference in their careers in the medical field. The passion for teaching began early for me in life.
What do you currently teach and where? I am a December graduate of the University of Charleston. I graduated magna cum laude. After graduation I began substituting. I substituted at a variety of schools in Kanawha County in a variety of grades.
On September 14th one of Professor Dresser’s former students visited our Education class to discuss what it is like to be a teacher. Ian Cole is now a teacher at a private school in Yonkers. Ian has taught many subjects including social studies, science, and gym. Also, he has taught grades six to eight over the past two and a half years. He expressed the amount of experience he has had with student behavior, teaching techniques, and student learning methods.
Staring the beginning of my career as a teacher, I'm moving towards having my own classroom. Being a head teacher you are in charge of what is begin taught in the classroom, and find ways to prepare the children for the next coming years. Working with children ages three too five is the beginning of the child's life, were its important age on who they are as an individual. The school I would like to work with would be public, a spot were all children are welcome, no matter the back ground or were their from. Children at this age are excited to go to school, and meet new friends this age is were their spirits beginning and their enthusiastic.
While reflecting over why I want to become a teacher, I went back and looked at some of my old schoolwork from elementary school, and in the "What I Want to be When I Grow Up" section, I always, without a doubt put Teacher. At the time, I think I really just liked the idea of designing a classroom all to myself, but now it has become so much more. The possibility of changing a child's life and helping him or her to realize how much potential he or she has is what drives me to become a teacher. I want to teach in a low-income Urban school, where there are more children that need guidance and someone to look up to. I believe the education and influence of school early on has the ability to affect a child's ability and motivation to complete school.
My parents, who both never completed school past the eighth grade, always wanted me to be a teacher. I had other plans. I chose a different career path but I never lost my love for being a teacher. My love for teaching will help me to motivate, encourage and to
Introduction Theodor Seuss Geisel, prominently known as Dr. Seuss once stated, “It is better to know how to learn than to know” (Sherin, 2013). As I begin my journey towards becoming a teacher these words mean so much to me. There is so much out there to know, one cannot possibly begin to know everything; however, if one knows how to learn one has the ability to know anything. In the classroom, my role as a teacher will exceed teaching children the required curriculum, over and above, motivating them to love to learn and guiding them to become lifelong learners. Students’ Ability to Learn When one is born
Helping children and young adults in learning basic skills in reading, writing, and communicating are some of my personal goals as a future teacher. Another imperative aspect is to become a role model for them and share my knowledge and skills in the subject. Moreover, the goals I have for my students is to help them gain interest in learning for the rest of their life, but not only for a passing grade. One of the methods that I will like to use as a teacher is the direct instruction approach since the students will need an introduction to the concepts, topics, and explanation.
Since I am currently enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University as a second year student, I know I have more room to grow in my teaching career. The further I dive into the education program the more equip I become into being the best teacher possible for my future students (5.0). So far I have learned about who I want to be in my career, who I am as a Christian, and what it takes to be an effective teacher. My passion for teaching others has grown tremendously since beginning my journey into college.
The reason that I want to become a teacher is to help students learn the knowledge and skills that they will need to be prepared for life. Had it not been for my mother, Sheila Kelley, and Mrs. Jane Hoffman, my teacher and speech therapist, I would not be attending Coastal Carolina today . Because of their influence in my life, I have the opportunity to become a teacher. As such, I hope to help prepare my students to meet the challenges of life and, perhaps, to achieve their lifetime goals. I hope to one day see one of my old students and know that I did my part to the best of my ability in helping them become all that he or she could be.
I want to as a teacher be able to help the students reach their potential and realize how their decisions can impact the community they live in. I know that doing so will not be easy but worthwhile. Also as a teacher I believe that I will be able to impact a student’s life in a positive way, and encourage them to keep learning while having fun. I will be capable of bringing in my past experiences that made learning fun and asking them what they would like to learn.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. As a child I would play “teacher” with my younger brother showing him how to add, subtract, read, and write. I enjoy helping others understand new information and love to watch them grow and be able to accomplish what their hearts desire. Classroom environments are a special way teachers show people their differences. I lean towards a more hands on classroom helping everyone express their own opinions, while respecting others.
Growing up in a house with a mom who is an educator showed me the importance of education and spreading the love I have for teaching others and helping them grow as a learner. I grew up surrounded by classrooms from a young age. I would hang out in my mom’s room in the morning and after school while she worked. I loved going to school and never wanted to miss a day for any reason. I loved school because of the teachers and staff I had and I would love to be the reason kids love coming to school as well.
