A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
My personal reason for wanting to become a teacher is to shape and mold the lives of students and be a strong and positive impact on the next generation of Ennis Texas. Kindness is a characteristic that is very important to me and I hope that I am now teaching and can teach this to all of my students for years to come! I believe each child is unique and deserves to receive the best education they can. Teaching is a very compassionate profession, and isn’t your typical forty hour Monday through Friday job. Today’s children are the future of our society, and as a future educator it is my desire to prepare those children for their future by encouraging respect, having an informal classroom, and allowing the student’s thinking process to help shape the classroom. Children are our future, and I believe the first step in getting them prepared is by having respect for themselves personally, peers and adults among them, and for all other things in their lives. In order for a student to respect me, I need to show the student that I respect them.
I believe that each and every child is unique in their own way. Who needs a secure and caring environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally, cognitively, physically, and socially. That’s why for me it’s important to help the students meet their full potential in this areas by providing an environment that is safe and also a place where they are able to share their ideas with each other and to let them explore their curiosity because after all that’s how they learn. As a teacher I feel that we should motivate our students to become the best that they can be by incorporating in our curriculum the many theories that we have learn in this class so that we can help them achieve their full potential. The purpose of academia is to provide a firm foundation for children in the areas of scholastics, self-awareness and community. As the educator, I will facilitate and provide opportunities for students to establish this foundation by instructing a student- centered curriculum as well as allowing the students to learn from other stimuli. I will strive to ensure that each student leaves my classroom with improvement in the three areas of schooling. I believe that teachers should have a passion toward their students' welfare including the students’ scholastic standings.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher. I knew it would be challenging, but rewarding with many benefits to come. But no one ever told me it can result in me getting sued. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and I was on my way to finishing up my teaching certification. The following school year I was set to start student teaching, but everything changed when the Superintendent of my old Middle School offered me position teaching math.
In regards to the principles of Christian education, I believe that students must be committed to excellence and extremely passionate about having a Christ-centered schooling environment as they strive for, attain, and maintain high standards. Curriculum developers must take into consideration that true learning and wisdom can only occur within a worldview that acknowledges that every square inch of creation belongs to God. As teachers teach, they must be highly qualified and passionate about Christ and Christian school excellence. It is my belief that, no matter how hard one studied and capitalizes on the worldly aspects of materialistic things; his or her life is not worthwhile unless God is the head in all the plans that he wants to ascertain. Teaching and learning should be personalizes to prepare each student for God’s unique call to his or her life.
I want to be a teacher because I want to make a change in the lives of children. I want to be a teacher not only because it is what I’ve always imagined I would be, but also because I think it’s the most rewarding job in the world. 2. Learning experience in social studies: I would characterize my elementary school education as conventional. I remember being in ESL in first grade and second grade.
Based on the Teacher Talk classroom management profile questionnaire, my teaching style is authoritative. The authoritative teacher is able to place limits and controls on the students but simultaneously encourages independence. When a student is disruptive, this teaching style offers a polite, but firm, reprimand. At first, I was surprised by my results, believing that I was more of a Laissez-faire teacher. However, after further consideration, I can see my personality within this teaching style.
I help to strengthen and improve the teaching profession by respecting others. This includes students, parents, and fellow teachers/administrators. Respect is important in order to continue to grow professionally and to better achieve goals that make a child succeed. If one child succeeds then everyone wins. A way to show respect goes back to one of my strengths, communication.
As a student, when you enter into a school or a typical day in a classroom, you don’t think twice about the job or task assigned to you for the day. You don’t think much about your surroundings, a teaching style, or the needs and challenges others face. Why? We are conditioned to this environment; we are brought up with certain expectations and assumptions of school that is now only second nature to us. We get absorbed into our own world, most always thinking about ourselves, rather than others.
I want to be teacher because I know I am helping kids who need it. Teaching is a job that I know I am giving kids a better chance of succeeding. If you don’t go to school you probably are not going to succeed! I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was really little! My mom is a teacher so when I go into her classroom and hear funny stories about her kids I imagine me being a teacher someday.
If you plan on being a teacher when you grow up there are a couple of requirements to do so. If you can’t do your job well, your student won’t be ready for the next year, and if your students aren't ready for the next year the teacher has done a poor job. You need to be educational for the most part. Here are some more ways of what consists a good teacher. Most people think that just by being smart you can be a teacher, but after reading this you won’t think that being a teacher is that easy anymore.
Teachers have always been a massive impact in my life. I was brought to this country at such a young and had no prior knowledge of English. So, I have a strong appreciation to those teachers/mentors that had the immense patience with my family and I. I would like to repay those who were a part of my education learning experience. I believe that I have much potential in the Education field specifically here in Arizona due to it being a bilingual area. As a result, I would like to work with students in general no matter where they fall in the General Education spectrum, but preferably 1st through 3rd grade would be ideal.
Truly caring about people is a blessing and a curse. As cliché as that sounds, it will be the most uplifting, yet harmful trait I will have to conquer during my years of teaching. I believe the teaching world is still struggling to truly define what it means to teach a child. Many teachers are still overlooking students in the classroom. Many teachers are still failing to recognize the potential in each student.
