The purpose of education is more than just learning math and science, students learn skills that they can apply in the future. Teachers have a philosophy of education, some may think subjects should be based on what a student is interested in, or some may think students should learn only core knowledge. Motivation to teach can be strong for people, but others may lose their motivation and no longer see teaching as their calling. The way a teacher sees education and how students should learn will affect their assessments and how they grade their students.

Working with kids is fun, and a teacher’s work environment is wonderful considering you get to work in a building where positivity is a big factor. The teaching profession has a desirable summer schedule. Being involved with after school activities are very important to me. I would love to coach volleyball and track. Without motivation people in the educational field may feel a burnout. Feeling very stressed and not caring or working hard are all signs of a teacher burnout (Koch,2016). One of the biggest motivation factors for teachers is wanting to see the students succeed. Becoming an important role model in a students life is common among teachers. Many teachers have told why they chose education. Teachers always say that they care for kids and want they to succeed. One teacher from Minnesota, Angela Harvala, (2015) said, “I was lucky to have many passionate, clever teachers as a child that instilled a thirst for knowledge and love for math and books. They made solving problems exciting and literature come alive. But, more importantly, they made a difference in my life”. She found her motivation through the teachers she had in the past that she looked up to as role models. Teachers who have motivation will work harder, take pride in what their students accomplish, and many more factors. Most importantly a teacher with motivation will be a great teacher. I plan on becoming a great teacher because I enjoy working with kids, I want to be involved in afterschool activities, and the friendly work
