In George Orwell’s 1984 we are introduced to a world of unnatural man, man in this novel has deteriorated many human emotions. In this future men and women do not love, laugh, or enjoy, they only hate and live in despair. Currently in our own world we are changing, not a mirror image of Winston’s world but one of similar traits, people who take pride in emotionless thought.
Today from as early as an age as people can begin to understand and remember, children are exposed to technologies depicting poor example and unhealthy behavior. Music of senseless action and distasteful words, promoting sex drugs and violence, movies and television following this same pattern of idiotic example. Maybe not purposely but this has lead to less involvement in the government by the people. We have the channels, and the Internet to search for truth in our government, the TV channels about what’s going on around the world and the free Internet telling us what’s going on around the world. The governments secrets have been spilled for example by Edward Snowden, but we don’t care, this senseless society, the carelessness is unbelievable. At this rate a dictator could rise to power and we wouldn’t know until it’s too late, George Orwell will have become right, sending us a clear warning but we did nothing about it. It’s thrown in our face, the government’s abuse of power but no one acts, how can we though if the mass refuses to act, just like the Proles in 1984 to distracted by petty things.
Despite the deterioration of human qualities the world today hasn’t fallen into Orwell’s prediction, it could very well many years from now but I don’t believe it will, so long as people die and man learns, Orwell’s prediction is
