I have always been a people person. I thrive off of social connections and being able to benefit people’s lives. Here at the University of San Diego, I have reached my full potential for helping others live their best lives. Many people see sororities as simply social outlets, but I know they are worth so much more; they create outlets for philanthropic and networking opportunities. I see the academic support system as an essential part of Greek Life at USD. As the Academic Enrichment Chair of Pi Beta Phi, I was able to mentor my sisters who struggled with academics and needed extra attention and motivation to succeed. This past fall semester, I held study hours in Copley Library in-between my morning classes. As I exited the Mail Center, I heard someone call my name. To my surprise, it was the girl from Torero Visiting Day. Not only did she remember my name, but she cited me as the final motivator to commit to USD; she made it official on her plane ride home, mere hours after our talk. I had shown her that moving cross-country for college isn’t the death sentence many believe it to be. Instead, I have thrived academically and socially at USD, and after checking in with her at the end of first semester, so has she. My experience at Torero Visiting Day proves that I benefit the lives of others through my passion for the University of San Diego, along with my authority positions in Greek Life. Although I never want my undergraduate experience at USD to end, I plan to be a dedicated alumna. USD has given me so much; it is only right to give back. I plan to join the regional Alumni Association wherever I end up after graduation and I will always promote the school. Hopefully, one day my future children will choose to attend
