Stephanie Maxfield Professor T. Cortina English 1A 1 October 2014 Integrity: Politics, Faith, and Jimmy Carter. We often find ourselves in situations which prompt certain questions; questions we often try to carefully navigate around (or avoid all together). It is here where we note that a difference exists between those individuals who hold fast to their personal beliefs during multifarious situations, and those who do not. Inarguably, Life provides us with plenty of opportunities to decisively exercise and demonstrate virtuous qualities: specifically integrity. Integrity requires us to remain honest and decisively act upon moral and ethically sound reasoning.
I read The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart. This story was about a boy named Mark who had cancer on and off his whole life and his dog Beau. One day he decided to run away and leave everything behind, even his best friend Jessie. Mark and Beau’s journey to Mount Rainier was not easy. They faced many challenges along the way.

In Thomas Jefferson’s letter to his nephew, he argues that to live a successful and pure life one must develop an honest heart (Bender 160). In support of this, having an honest heart will allow one to achieve fame and have a successful career (Bender 160). Additionally, one who practices honesty and integrity will be well liked and admired by friends (Bender 160). Yet, others think lying is a good way to made a difficult situation easier (Bender 160). The Honest Truth is a novel written by Dan Gemeinhart. It is about a 12-year-old boy who despite battling cancer decides to climb Mt. Rainier. He does not go alone though. He brings along his small dog, Beau. It is a strenuous journey including them getting mugged, falling into a river, and nearly dying together on the mountain.
Hilary Hinton “Zig” Ziglar, a famous American author and motivational speaker once stated that, “With integrity, you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. With integrity, you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt.” Integrity and morals are learned and practiced by countless communities around the globe. A feeling of making amends, preventing disgraceful outcomes, and simply doing the right thing without expecting special compensation for it are the universal fundamentals that make up the value of integrity. By: Cameron Morsovillo 8B #13 The Novel I read for the first quarter is “The Honest Truth” by Dan Gemeinhart and this novel plays more of a slow book and sometimes fast pace. This novel is very detailed and action packed with several main characters including Mark and his special dog Beau. They go on a adventure leaving home which leads them to wandering across the united states with his notebook and other things from his backpack but mainly his only friend there is his dog Beau. His family and friends are really worried sick about him and wondering when will he come home.
These values have a cultural variance according to the majority or an individual’s immersion, creating a tension as to whom has integrity? This confusion requires a solution through clear definition, provided by the Miriam Webster dictionary. Integrity is a firm adherence to a code of especially moral values: incorruptibility (Miriam Webster, n.d.). These moral values of right and wrong are definable under legislative and common laws, as well as
Prison Break illustrates the correlation of one’s decisions involved in the innocents of one and others due to political conspiracies and the effects of morals and integrity tied to thus. Integrity has always played an important role in human history and while integrity may be difficult to earn in our society today, we must remember what is left when our integrity is
The first unit in EDC131 has been an informative introduction to the question; what is language? The video entitled The Importance of Being Inauthentic is presented by Mark Bowden an expert in human behaviour and body language. The presentation gives an informative insight into body language and how the brain interprets the people around us. The presentation explores how the human brain is predisposed to categorising people into several distinct groups subconsciously. The most common categorisation is indifferent, whereby the people around us that we see but don't interact with are barely noticed hence the classification of indifferent.

This question needs to be considered by all facing a dilemma jeopardizing their integrity of character: “why?” The saying goes that integrity is “doing the right thing even when nobody is watching.” The essential message of this line is correct; a person should choose to maintain their integrity, regardless of exterior opinion. In any situation, a person should determine their “why,” to
Honesty is something I live by and try my hardest to stick to. Have I lied and do I still lie, yes. I guess it’s because I was taught a “white lie” is ok. The “white lies” are not harming anyone and sometimes white lies are told to make sure not to hurt anyone’s feelings.
The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity. Some examples of integrity and being dishonest.
