This week’s reading chore was very intriguing, gnarly and relatively of the world we live in today. Society seldom envisages about how much the world has changed today and why it has changed in such an exorbitant way. One reason for the change is due to globalization. Globalization denominates the worldwide movement toward economic, financial, trade, and communications integration. Needless to say, there are pros and cons of those changes and how they affect the general public life and careers, which could be both a detriment and benefit to society in the United States.

I have listed majority of the pros, that being technology. Another pro is Globalization has increased the real-time communication abilities between international organizations and nations. This has allowed for a greater emphasis on international cooperation. The world has in a sense become “smaller” because the nations can in a sense communicate easily. This has impacted the United States in situations such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks as well as it has given the United States the ability to communicate with allies as well as enemies in time of peace, but also in time of conflict. Globalization helps American businesses sell outside of the country and buy as well. Although it is nice to purchase merchandise at a low price, some Americans are at a loss of jobs. Businesses are able to lower merchandise because they hire foreigners who are willing to work for lower wages. Why continue paying Mary 14 an hour, when Chen will work for only 6 an hour?
