“We the people in order to form a more perfect Union”-Preamble to the US constitution. Many people think of the early days of the U.S. as a simpler time. A time when the founding fathers were struggling to setup the national system. Ultimately, they came up with the Bill of Rights that still stands in place to this day. Consequently, there was disputes over interpretations. One of these disagreements includes the Second Amendment-The right to keep and bear arms. While it seems like a simple solution, gun control is indeed a more complicated issue, because gun free zones do not curtail violences and the number of deaths caused by guns per year are relatively low. According to the CDC's "Leading Causes of Death Reports," between 1999 and 2013 as a regular survey to determine causes of death in the U.S., “Americans were 21.5 times more likely to die of heart disease (9,691,733 deaths); 18.7 times more likely to die of malignant tumors (8,458,868 deaths); and 2.4 times more likely to die of diabetes or 2.3 times more likely to die of Alzheimer's (1,080,298 and 1,053,207 respectively) than to die from a firearm (whether by accident, homicide, or suicide).” The fact that the amount of gun deaths is relatively low shows that the need for gun control is obsolete although every human life is precious and we as americans wish to prevent death. That is why many people own guns to prevent such monstrosities of which can happen thus prevent mecuriesd law what can go wrong will go wrong if a criminal or active shooter ever threatens the security of the gun owner. In fact according to the washington post “Majority of Americans Say Guns Make Homes Safer” by Scott Clement and Peyton Craighill in a survey done for news articles, “75 percent say they make the house safer, compared with just 30 of those with no gun at home who say the same.” Thus the ownership of firearm in a household in fact prevents gun deaths rather than causes them although there is a 30 percent deficit, for there are these types of people who do not own guns who would most likely be victim of the deaths associated with the above CDC
